Condelezza Rice Visits Hill

    
In October of 2005, Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice visited Birmingham.  Rice, a Birmingham native, attended Hill Elementary as a child and she made the school one of her stops during her trip.  Rice was accompanied by British Secretary of State, Jack Straw.  She talked to students and teachers and toured the school.  Individuals from Hill School, Capstone Companies, City of Birmingham and Birmingham City School officials attended a reception in her honor. She also had several surprise guests, including Parnell Jones, her principal when she was a student at Hill.  She was also greeted by members of her family and some childhood friends.  It was a honor to have Ms. Rice and Mr. Straw visit Hill Elementary School.
