Dear parents,
Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year at Hill Elementary School. I am happy to be your child’s second grade teacher and I am looking forward to the new school year. With your help I know we can make this year a very productive and successful one for your child.

Homework is a very important part of your child’s learning experience. Homework will be assigned Monday – Thursday. Please help your child in completing their assignments and returning them to school each day.
Parents, please read with your child every night. Reading to and with your child helps to promote a lifelong love of reading. Reading is so important to the success of your child in all subject areas. Set aside about 15 minutes each night to read and discuss a book. It’s a wonderful way to share time with your child.

Although I have been teaching in Birmingham City for many years, this is my first year at Hill Elementary. Your help and support would be greatly appreciated. Together we can ensure that your child is the best he/she can be!
